PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
The QD Hook Double Girder Overhead Crane is a heavy-duty electric overhead travelling crane designed for demanding material handling in manufacturing, metallurgy, warehousing, and industrial processing environments. With lifting capacities from 5 to 400 tonnes and spans from 10.5 to 31.5 metres, it is one of the most widely used crane types in heavy industry.
The crane consists of a rigid box-section double girder bridge frame, an open winch trolley travelling on rails mounted above the girders, end carriages with travel drives, a full-view operator's cabin suspended beneath the main girder, and a complete electrical control system. The double girder configuration provides greater structural rigidity and higher hook height than single girder alternatives, making it suitable for heavier loads and longer spans.
Working duty classifications from A5 to A7 cover a wide range of operational intensities — from intermediate general-purpose use to continuous heavy-duty metallurgical and casting applications. The crane can be equipped with hooks, grabs, electromagnetic chucks, magnet beams, or C-hooks depending on the material being handled.
Speed control is available with frequency inverter drives for smooth starting, stopping, and precise load positioning. Main electrical components are sourced from Siemens (Germany). The operator's cabin is equipped with adjustable seating, insulated flooring, toughened glass windows, a fire extinguisher, and an electric fan, with optional air conditioning, acoustic alarm, and interphone.
The QD crane is not rated for use in combustible or explosive environments in its standard configuration. Explosion-proof variants are available as the QB model.

APPLICATION
Steel and metallurgical plants: A6 and A7 duty QD cranes handle heavy billets, coils, and structural steel throughout steelmaking and rolling processes. The dual-hook configuration with main and auxiliary hooks allows coordinated lifts for tilting and pouring operations.
Mechanical processing workshops: A5 duty cranes handle machine tools, moulds, and fabricated components across assembly lines and machining bays, where precise load positioning and reliable operation over long shifts are required.
Foundries and casting workshops: High-duty QD cranes equipped with heat-resistant components are used for charging furnaces and handling hot metal — applications that demand maximum reliability under thermal stress.
Warehouses and logistics centres: Mid-range capacity QD cranes handle palletised goods, steel stockpiles, and bulk materials in covered storage, where hook height and span coverage across the full warehouse footprint are the primary requirements.
Power stations: QD cranes handle turbine components, transformer equipment, and generator assemblies during installation and maintenance, where high capacity and long span are required in a single lifting system.
